Ballot Measure Wins
Lake Research Partners has more experience with ballot measure campaigns than any other progressive firm. Our work includes measures advocating for minimum wage increases (all in all, we have been involved in 15 successful minimum wage increase campaigns, including most recently in Colorado, Arizona, and Maine), public education, civil rights, animal welfare, campaign finance reform, and drug policy reform, as well as defeating initiatives which restrict a woman’s reproductive rights, anti-LGBT rights measures, anti-affirmative action measures, and draconian anti-immigration measures. In addition, LRP has worked closely with the Ballot Initiative Strategy Center (BISC) over the past decade and a half, providing us invaluable insights on the optimal strategies to position ballot measures for victory, in ways that motivate our base and persuade swing voters—with or without inflaming opposition sentiment, depending on the strategic objective. LRP is recognized nationally as experts on understanding the nuanced differences between candidate campaigns and ballot issue campaigns.
