Rocio Rodarte is a recent Brown University graduate with a major in International Relations, Political Economy of Development. At Brown, she was a case worker with Health Leads, a nonprofit organization that connects low-income individuals with housing, legal assistance, and health care. She also served as a health policy intern for Rhode Island Lieutenant Governor Elizabeth Roberts and was a 2010 summer intern with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) in the Office of Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-CA). She is a co-founder of the DC-MD-VA Latinas Organizing for Leadership and Advocacy (DMV LOLA) in collaboration with the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health and is also a member of the fundraising committee for the Brown University Alumni Association. She was born and raised in East Los Angeles, California and currently resides in Arlington, Virginia.

Shelbi joined Lake Research Partners in 2013 and is based in Washington, DC. She comes to LRP from Gumbinner & Davies Communications, where she was a Political Associate on their 2012 Election team coordinating targeted direct mail programs in various parts of the country. Shelbi, a Florida native, has extensive political experience in Florida at the congressional, state, and local levels, along with lobbying experience. In 2011, Shelbi was an associate with VancoreJones Communications based in Tallahassee working on several special projects for the firm, which included the State Party Convention with keynote speaker Vice President Joe Biden.

Shelbi was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida and holds a BS in Business Administration with a major in Economics from the University of Florida. She’s started a PhD in Education Policy, Planning, and Analysis from Florida State University though took time off to join campaigns.
