LAKE RESEARCH PARTNERS WINS THREE PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS, CELEBRATES ABOLITION OF DEATH PENALTY IN ILLINOIS
Lake Research Partners was recognized for excellence and innovation with two awards at the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) Pollie Awards Dinner on Friday, March 11, 2011.
The first award was The AAPC 2011 Distinguished Service Award for Service to the Profession which recognized 20 years of innovative work on the Politico Battleground Poll with our Republican partners, The Tarrance Group.
The second award was The AAPC 2011 Pollie for Best Use of New Technology for the text survey we completed during the October 30, 2010 Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear. The objective of this poll, conducted for USAction, in conjunction with Revolution Messaging, was to explore a new technology for assessing voters’ views, capturing public opinion at a politically unique event, and getting positive press based on the unique technology. The new use of this technology also helped USAction gain information about an audience that they could mobilize on Election Day, and the survey results helped inform their tactics and messaging.

Lake Research Partners also joins our client, the Illinois Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, in celebrating Governor Quinn’s signing of the death penalty abolition bill on Wednesday, March 9, 2011. On February 18, 2011, the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty presented Lake Research Partners with their Special Citation for our impact on the policy debate on the death penalty.
Diann Rust-Tierney of the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty said:
“The abolitionists in Arizona, Illinois and nationally wouldn’t have made the progress made to date without the work of Lake Research Partners. And no other polling firm has ever had as much impact on helping people understand the death penalty issue as Lake Research Partners.”
Lake Research Partners is proud of our role in supporting the Illinois Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty in their historic victory, and we look forward to working with them to change their name.
